How I got into astrology and developing a full time career.

I can’t imagine my life without astrology. There were signs from early on that it would be a part of my life. When I was around 7 or 8, I remember writing a story for school and it was about a magical wizard - of course! I remember wanting him to have a name beginning with Z so I went to the back of the dictionary and decided that the best name for him would be Zodiac.

The Zodiac is the band of sky that the sun, moon and planets travel through and also where we find the constellations we work with in astrology. I honestly knew nothing about astrology at that time, it was not a part of my life at all!

My next memory of astrology came from reading teen magazines in the 90’s. I remember reading my horoscope and just being totally in awe!

Astrology gave me a sense that there was something magical to life.

My angsty teenage years really needed this boost of something else other than my dreadful life and I dove deep into finding any books that I could from my local libraries and absorbing as much as I could.

I never doubted astrology ever. I just knew there was something special about it even if my horoscope was telling me that I would fall in love on Saturday but actually nothing special at all happened on that day. It was never really about horoscopes and predictions for me though. For me, astrology was an adventure where I was looking for something that helped me understand my life and my pain. I was desperately trying to find myself in the stars. I was desperately trying to find something that helped it all to make sense and I was trying to find something magical.

The powerful influence of a Wise Woman.

What really activated my passion for astrology and started me on a path to wanting to help others through astrology, came about after a session with a woman in my early thirties, around 2008, who proceeded to describe some heavy dynamics in my birth chart and how that could have played out in my life. It was so incredibly accurate in describing what I had been through and what I was still going through at the time.

This astrologer really helped me to see that some of the painful experiences of my life were in my birth chart and this gave me comfort. She then went on to teach me ways to transform the energy. I have super strong Pluto in my chart and this is a planet associated with power and it can show up in negative ways. This dear woman recommended a book that I have referred many people to since that is all about how to be with this energy and not just be a victim to it… it was profoundly impactful and still helps me to this day.

I honestly remember feeling so supported by this information.

For the first time in my life, I felt like something about my pain made sense and that it wasn’t just bad luck or random horrible events.

This session helped me to understand why my childhood was the way it was and how I ended up in an extremely difficult marriage with truly painful outcomes. It also helped me to honestly self examine and assess how I was interpreting events.

The most amazing part of this interaction to me was that the session didn’t just focus on the pain but also showed me ways forwards and connected dots to other aspects of my life and how I could heal and shift the energy! I felt so understood but also empowered by this experience and I still try to help people in this way to this day.

I became so passionate about astrology at this point and took my studies further. I was reading more books on astrology, trying to understand my personal chart more deeply and also reading the charts of my children and people around me. The more I looked at peoples charts, the more I knew there was something very special with astrology and I knew I wanted to work with astrology as a tool to support others.

Developing a full time astrology career.

My chance to work with people as an intuitive guide as my full time career came in 2010 when I went on tour with a psychic fair. We were touring around Australia travelling from town to town where I would be doing on average 10 to 15 sessions per day! I didn’t work with astrology for every client as not everyone was wanting this, but I began weaving astrology into my sessions as a way to help people make more sense of their lives. I was exposed to such a high volume of people that I got to learn so much in a short period of time. It was tough, but I loved every second of it!

The second phase of my astrology journey was activated when I met a wonderful man in 2014 while I was living in Bali. He was an astrologer from the Shamanic Astrology lineage and he went through my birth chart in a way that further explained my painful journey through life, especially my journey as a mother. This was a transformative experience as he didn’t know what I had been through and yet he helped me make sense of so much. This was a mind blowing and deeply healing experience. It really made me feel more at peace and helped me to further let go of some of the guilt around my mistakes.

I was so moved by the Shamanic Astrology approach that only months later I was blessed to meet the founder of Shamanic Astrology, Daniel Giamario, who became a mentor of mine and from whom I still receive mentoring to this day. Meeting Daniel and studying his approach to astrology inspired me to deepen my personal studies and my desire to support others only grew!

At this point, I really started working at a deeper level with astrology and the way it can help people to make sense of who they are, why they are who they are and their present situations. I loved this time of journeying with peoples charts and how it would weave so beautifully with my other tools of working with the Tarot and intuition. My passion just kept growing.

Astrology has helped me so much and it feels like it has always been with me as a guiding light in my life and I am so passionate about supporting others and sharing astrology in a way that it supported me in some of my darkest times.

Astrology gave me perspective when I couldn’t find it and showed me that there is more to the story and this is what I hope to do for others.

I love astrology now more than ever and I am constantly learning more from multiple teachers and lineages. I can easily spend an entire day reading, watching videos and diving deep into astrology.

I remember hearing an old Vedic Astrology Master once say that not one person will know all of what astrology is within one lifetime. Knowing this has allowed me to take a deep breath and to lean into the extraordinary journey that astrology is and always will be for me.

To this day, I am still looking for myself in the stars… but it’s not a desperate search anymore. These days, astrology is a wonderful way to weave the wisdom of my ancestors and the cosmos into my life. For me astrology is a way to bring the myth into the everyday and into ways that I can relate to and this is what I try to do with clients. I love helping people connect the dots and astrology is still one of the most powerful tools for doing this!

Astrology is still magical for me, I think it always will be. There must be a reason that astrology is one of the oldest active traditions that exists… there’s a reason so many people love astrology. I know why I do and I am dedicated to continue to learn and grow as an astrologer and to continue supporting people with this magical tool.
