Welcome to The Monthly Astrology Snapshot for the next lunar month beginning at the new moon Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius happening December 4th everywhere in the world!
We are now deep into the current eclipse season and it is potent! I am observing a karmic reckoning but I am also seeing this being profoundly supportive for many of us. Right now, there is so much potential for break throughs and healing of old, ancient and stuck karma!
This month is about cutting ties, letting go, grieving what was and accepting what is. Sometimes we need to loose what we thought mattered to reveal what actually really matters. Sometimes we need to lose the things we take for granted so we can remember how sacred they are! And sometimes we need to wipe the slate clear to revision a new and better future!
Last lunar month was tough. It was challenging for many and it was life changing for some. Many of us had (and many still have) big things coming up for healing and releasing and this lunar month is similar but not the same as there are signs that the things we are addressing and taking care of at this time are part of a bigger plan and the greater cycles of evolution!
We are now deep into eclipse season and it is potent. I am observing a karmic reckoning of sorts but I am seeing this being profoundly supportive for many of us. I am seeing and experiencing that there is so much potential for break throughs and healing of old ancient karmic stories that we have inherited from the past and from old unquestioned values and traditions that no longer accurately reflect who we are and who we are becoming.
This lunar month invites us to step out for a moment and to see everything from a higher perspective, to take our minds beyond dualistic thoughts of this or that, right or wrong, good or bad and maybe even receive some inspired shifts in our view that reinstall some of our lost hope and faith as many of us have had moments of just wanting to give up.
Don't give up, don't lose hope! This lunar month begins with a potent solar eclipse that speaks to the potential for us all to reset our minds, beliefs and visions but we will need to let something go first. This eclipse may stir up and reveal what needs to be released from your life so you can cut ties to the past and so that you can fully embrace the new rhythm.
Last month was an opportunity for us to explore what really matters? Do you want to work all day? Do you really care about more money, things, fame and worldly success over spiritual cultivation or are you embracing the new paradigms of humanity? This month has the potential to align you with ways that you can move forwards and vision with what really matters to you.
Venus is about to go through a huge death and rebirth (I explore this more deeply below in the major themes) so relationships are potentially going to go through a massive reckoning as well. Again, while we are going through a grand restructuring of reality, everything is up for review and the way we love and relate is so obviously a part of this.
As a boon, there are different aspects playing out in the background all month that will really support us in maintaining connection to what matters and to our spiritual values and practices, whatever that means for you personally. We can stay aligned with the greater purpose!
As you journey with the key themes below, look for your personal story within these themes and lean deeply into the cycles of transformation. As you lean in, your fear loosens its grip on your mind and you will see it all more clearly revealing your personal approach to these times.
What’s happening in the sky?
(i) VENUS CONJUNCT PLUTO - Coming into effect December 10th - 31st
This is a longer than normal transit and this is because Venus turns retrograde whilst sitting on this point of her conjunction to Pluto - the intense planet of transformation - which makes it a longer than normal experience.
Venus is focused on relationships, love, beauty, finance and wealth. Pluto intensifies and transforms everything it touches. When Venus connects with Pluto these themes will amplify, be in focus and go through a death and rebirth. With Venus going retrograde on this point, we may find ourselves doing a deep dive and reviewing the themes of relationships.
The institution of marriage has gone through such a deep process and I've noticed so many people have shifted their personal perspective on what relationship means to them over recent years. Some of this has been forced upon people through dramatic changes that were out of their control, and some have come from a genuine consciousness shift where the individual just realised that what they want from relationship was more nuanced than what the institution of 'till death do us part' offered.
During this transit, we may find ourselves reflecting on these subjects. Past loves can show back up in our lives. We may even find we are remembering people and past pain. If this is you, my advice is always to work with the energy.
Some of us may find ourselves uncomfortable in our current relationships. My suggestion would be to wait until the new year to make changes or big decisions. Wait for Venus to go direct again on January 30th and even better wait for her to go past her third conjunction to Pluto in early March. Which interestingly is when she will be in conjunction with Mars which can be seen as the masculine and these two planets tend do dance together in the sky as they are in a relationship with each other and when they come together it can be seen as the masculine and feminine energies in union! This is a moment to watch for!
(ii) SATURN SQUARE URANUS - Exact Christmas Eve/Day
I really wish I didn't have to talk about this more but we can't not as it is a huge deal! This configuration is a challenging dynamic between:
Saturn - the forces of control, structure, material formation, karma, time and space, tradition and the elders associated with governance.
And Uranus - the forces of innovation, disruption to the status quo, freedom, rebellion, awakening, new paradigms and revolution!
Saturn is like the rhythm of our lives, he is connected to timing and represents the pace we move at. Uranus' nature is to not follow the rhythm. Uranus is designed to change the beat so that growth and most importantly, evolution, can happen!
These two planets have been in a challenging square to each other all of this year. This dynamic reaches its third peak this year on Christmas day! Merry Christmas human race :) and will amplify the themes of freedom versus control, the old versus the new and tradition versus innovation.
Maybe this is what happens before a big shift, that the old and the new need to meet. This can be a violent dynamic until either one wins over the other or there is a harmonisation between the two (I'm hoping this is the outcome).
This intense dynamic has been playing out all of this year and will come in for one more amplification in October 2022! Sorry everyone! But hopefully Uranus, the planet of the future, will gain more traction next year and we see some developments that supports a shift in consciousness on Earth that moves us forwards and into a better future.
My suggestion would be to be aware of these dynamics and find yourself and where you are it with this cycle at a personal level. Are you changing the rhythm of your life?
Find who you want to be in these times and stick to it. Release the fear. Understand that life is beautifully complex and that there are no absolute ways to be with this time. Give each other space - really. We are all going through it.
For me, the key teachings of this lunar month are about not getting caught in the polarisation and to keep an eye on the bigger view so we don't get lost in the details, lost in the moment and lost spinning in fear.
Don't give up, don't lose faith, don't become apathetic - this is all just a trip and a challenge.
Let's go beyond fear. Let's open to the possibility that life is a quest! Let's open our hearts and minds to the teachings of Sagittarius that remind us that life is a grand adventure!
Major Themes
(i) NEW MOON SOLAR ECLIPSE IN SAGITTARIUS
December 4th everywhere.
Sagittarius demands the truth! But who's truth? What really is truth? There is the truth at the level of the story and then there is THE truth which is deeper than the story. In my job, I try to journey with people and their life stories and I often see that what is really going, that what is really true to the situation, is usually much deeper than the story.
For example, your partner leaves the towel on the bathroom floor - again - and you fight over that! But is that really what we are upset about? Often it's something deeper and if we can learn to be with that in a calm and real way, we create more intimacy and a greater potential for real healing. This is just an example but I think you get the point.
This is an eclipse of endings and beginnings. This eclipse is set up in a way where we are being invited to let something go, to cut ties, to release something we have been gripping onto based on a story we had about it and to open ourselves to something far greater!

Why are you really holding onto that relationship, job, story, belief?

With Venus going retrograde conjunct Pluto (I talk about this more in a moment) there is potentially a challenge over the next few months to look at relationships and things we value in a realistic, honest and potentially more sober way.
At this eclipse, notice what is coming up in your life and work consciously with this. You can work with ritual (which can include talking to a therapist or a friend) to honour and witness this shifting in your life.
On a positive note, when the light of the Sun returns after being blocked by the moon on Earth, we get to revision something new! We can create new beliefs! We can reset something profound in our lives!
Solar eclipses always occur at the new moon and this means it is a new beginning. Sagittarius is symbolised by the archer and this archetype is one for questing and is always seeking a greater meaning in life! Embrace this energy, open your mind and be available to a potential revisioning.
We may find that we are going on a new quest collectively over the next few years. We may find we are revisioning what the Saturn Uranus square is restructuring at the deepest levels of our societies and I like to believe that we are all co-creating this vision and that as each of us shift our minds and our views, we don't have to wait and hope that the governments will do it.
We don't need to yell, scream and fight for it... we just become it... right here right now! We can ALL access this freedom any moment we choose!
FULL MOON IN GEMINI
December 18th/19th depending where you are in the world.
Gemini can be fun. We need some fun that's for sure! Gemini is symbolised by the twins and dances with the concept of duality. Within this symbolism exists both the shadow of duality and the joy of duality. Without the other, how do you know you even exist? It's almost like a riddle and Gemini brings us to this game and fun and an invitation to go beyond duality and to see it is always both and get out of the pendulum swing and not take it all so seriously!
When we experience that it is always both, we then experience the world without the dualistic pull of right and wrong and we can laugh at the cosmic joke and have more fun with life.
When the moon is full in Gemini, these themes can be amplified and we may find ourselves seeing it all from another perspective. Plus this lunation has a beautiful aspect with Jupiter (the ruler of the solar eclipse) and this can really bring in hope and expansion and maybe even support us to solve our problems in new and interesting ways.
Plus Mars will have just moved into Sagittarius which activates the eclipse themes even more at this full moon! Maybe what we visioned at the solar eclipse will get a boost as we connect more intentionally with what we are visioning for the future. I can't wait to journey in ritual with this lunation!
