Collaborating with Fearne Cotton on “Bigger Than Us”
I’ve been reflecting on just how intense life is and how rapidly the world is changing and I remembered my conversation with the gorgeous Fearne Cotton in 2021. Fearne asked me to discuss astrology and the greater cycles as a contributor to her book “Bigger Than Us: The power of finding meaning in a messy world”. I was super excited to contribute as I am a HUGE fan of Fearne’s AND this is something I am passionate about! I am passionate about helping people (including myself) to understand that there is something greater at play and that exploring what this is for you can actually be super empowering!
In Bigger Than Us, Fearne takes you on a journey with her as she explores different ways of finding greater meaning. In the introduction (which you must read and not jump straight to the rest of the book like I tend to do!) the first sentence in the section called The Hugeness of Life, Fearne writes “The title of this book, Bigger Than Us is supposed to be relieving, evoking an en masse collective ‘phew’ that maybe there is something larger at play.” This is exactly what I feel and why I love sharing the greater cycles of astrology as there really are bigger cycles at play and following the planetary movements helps us to really know we are moving with something greater.
“Bigger Than Us” is exploring ways of trying to make sense of our sometimes chaotic and messy lives. Each of the amazing contributors offer awesome insights into different approaches to sense making ranging from connecting with intuition, ritual, prayer, signs and ways of dealing with anxiety and self-limiting beliefs. It’s such an awesome book covering so many amazing ways to empower yourself and is more relevant now than ever!
When Fearne approached me to contribute to her book, I just knew this was a special opportunity to dive into how astrology and connecting with the planetary cycles can really help us to make sense of the world and the times we are living through (our conversation starts on page 158 in the section Astrology and Planetary Movement). I’ve come to know that we are all collectively connected in some way as we are all part of greater cycles and knowing this can really bring a sense of unity and compassion as we realise that we are actually all in this together!
I love and deeply respect what Fearne is doing in the world. This woman is on a mission to bring some honest happiness and wisdom to this world and “Bigger Than Us” is just one piece of an incredible body of work that Fearne has been creating over recent years. Fearne has been busy developing a collection of tools and resources at the Happy Place that are focused on supporting us in finding an “honest, authentic and accessible approach to self-care”. She has even created the Happy Place App where all of these resources come together!
The backbone of Happy Place is Fearne’s award winning Happy Place Podcast. In this podcast, “Fearne talks personal, spiritual and the big picture with her amazing guests as she reveals what happiness means to them.” If you need a lift and to know that you are not alone on your journey, and you don’t need more depressing or bad news but real talk about real issues, then please go and listen!
I love knowing that there are people like Fearne Cotton in the world. I love knowing there are people who are genuinely using their platform to support others, to empower others and to shine some light and share some wisdom in ways that are honest and accessible!
